My art has led me to a career in Computer Graphics. Working in the visual effects industry for the last 10 years, gave me the experience to develop as a digital artist. For this painting I spent around 2 months first collecting hundreds of photos, I then spent around 8 months piecing the images together like a puzzle.
It's based on the Nubra Valley, in Northern India. The figures are Jesus Christ, Lahiri Mahasaya, Mahavatar Babaji, Swami Sri Yukteshwar, Paramahansa Yogananda, Baghavan Krishna, and Ananda Moyee ma.
Chapter 33. "Babaji, The Yogi-Christ of Modern India" in Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, begins with "The northern Himalayan crags near Badrinarayan are still blessed by the living presence of Babaji, guru of Lahiri Mahasaya. The secluded master has retained his physical form for centuries, perhaps for millenniums. The deathless Babaji is an AVATARA." This chapter was the inspiration for this painting.
Working on this painting was a form of meditation for me, it always made me feel happy and uplifted. I usually listened to spiritual music as I worked. I hope this painting can inspire you to embrace your own passion in life, anything that supports calm, cheerful activity and loving service to God, others, and your own highest self.
